The clinical trials run by any clinical research company are most likely going to be organized in three phases. In Phase 1, the clinical research company will test how the newly developed drug or device should be dispensed. In Phase 2, the clinical research company tests whether or not the newly developed drug or device actually works, and determines the benefits versus the safety. In Phase 3, the clinical research company compares the new drug or device to already existing treatments.
