A good number people choose not to use tile all the way from floor to ceiling, even in their shower and bath areas. It is most common to stop the tile about 36 inches up from the tub or floor.
Paint is possibly the simplest option you have when it comes to the wall surface of your bathroom. When selecting paint for your bathroom you want to stay away from flat or matte finishes. While you won’t necessarily want high glass an eggshell or satin may be exactly what you require to help protect from moisture damage.
