Premier League Title To Be Decided Between Man United And Chelsea
On March 26, 2010 in Sports
Unless Chelsea or Arsenal can find a way to stop Manchester United, the Red Devils are well on their way to what would be a record breaking league title in a matter of months. Chelsea will be the only team left who would still have to play the Red Devils before the season ends. Many Blues fans can still recall the days when they went head to head against United on several occasions and came out on top. Those were the good times under Jose Mourinho who has since left the club. While the strong headed manager is no longer at Stamford Bridge, the players he once led to numerous trophies are still with the club and continue to be their prime players under current man in charge Carlo Ancelotti.
Despite having more or less the same set of players who were once infallible against the best, the present squad’s mentality appears to be very different. During Mourinho’s time, they would often out muscle and out think the Red Devils consistently no matter the mind games played by Alex Ferguson. It is a different scenario now as the Chelsea players appear flustered and frustrated during games as they watch United drive past them in the league. The huge lead they built in the early months has now disappeared. Instead, it is now up to them to overcome that deficit they find themselves in in the Manchester United vs Chelsea live online football commentary match at Old Trafford to put themselves in pole position for the title. There is hardly any sign of assurance or composure in the Stamford Bridge team with players and manager all knowing that they cannot afford any more mistakes.
One would not blame them entirely for feeling this way. They are coming up against a team that is led by a manager who continues to defy belief in leading the club to every success possible in football. Alex Ferguson might not be the most popular man in English football, but the Manchester United manager is definitely the most successful. Despite having won countless titles that has left them on par with Liverpool’s historic tally, as well as many European trophies, the United manager continues to want more. If there were any doubts, they will be quashed when Ferguson leads his team out against Chelsea. The opposite can be said for Carlo Ancelotti even though he has had notable successes in the past. It was like that against Jose Mourinho when the Portuguese switched to Italian football. It might very well be a repeat for Ancelotti against Ferguson with a cruel introduction to English football.
