There have apparently been a couple of times when the public walking the length of the shoreline have found chinese lanterns glowing in the sky and misjudged it for any distress gesture from a ferry! The lanterns directly are taken for being UFOs. So we take this occasion to appease the tensed up nerves. Chances are that if you spot a light floating up in the sky it’s probably one of our lanterns and most surely not an alien interruption.
