How To Lose Weight Under Challenging Circumstances
On September 29, 2009 in Health
Losing weight when stressed is hard to say the least. Even when life is not very tough, it can still be quite difficult to fight the battle of the bulge. However, a number of individuals believe that stressful periods in life increase even more weight gain, because they tend to eat too much when they feel stressed out. When they are less stressed, they tend to eat less, making dieting much less difficult during tranquil moments.
Avoiding emotional eating takes some conscious effort on each person’s part, especially if you tend to eat when anxious. Some dieters learn that they even eat too much when they are elated. This is simply another type of emotional eating. Call it joyful emotional eating, if you like. It still is considered emotional eating. The trick is to be aware of what you are eating and why each time you have some food. Ask yourself if you are actually hungry. If you are not, there is no need to eat any additional food.
Post pregnancy weight loss can be especially challenging. However, if you breastfeed, you can burn fat quicker than if you do not nurse, so do consider nursing your infant for several reasons, including your child’s health and your own more rapid weight loss. Do not resume your fitness routine again until your doctor suggests, because you don’t want to hurt yourself, especially if you had a C-section. Eat healthy food, drink enough of water and get lots of shut-eye, both for your own sake and the sake of your child.
