Give Back with Laser Engraved Gifts

On August 20, 2010 in Business

My father is a hard working and kind hearted man who has always been very good at what he does. He’s also modest, and would much rather give than receive. He raised me with very good morals and I am very proud of who he is and what he has done for myself and others.

My father is the Executive VP at a very successful engineering company in Charleston, South Carolina. Originally from Wisconsin, he relocated our family to take this position fifteen years ago.

He’s very well respected within his organization, and always goes out of his way to treat his employees right. In return, the majority of his staff has been loyal to the company.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the company, my father wanted to give back, and decided to switch the focus of the celebration from the birth of the company to an employee appreciation celebration. He wanted to reward them for their hard work and dedication. Without them, there was simply no way the company would be such a success.

When choosing gifts, he was a bit torn. He considered giving gift cards to some of the best restaurants in town, but he really wanted to make these gifts more personal. A friend of his suggested he consider laser engraved gifts.

After doing a little research, he discovered that you can laser engrave nearly anything. Crystal glasses, picture frames, clocks, personalized desk accessories or pens …you name it! So he set to work. Crystal wine glasses for Kelly in accounts payable, a wooden clock for Jack, the head technician, and a beautiful painting for Bobby, on board. All of these gifts and others had their name and a personal message from my father engraved.

What is Laser Engraving?

Laser engraving uses lasers to engrave (mark) an object. The technique can be quite technical and complex, and often times a computer system is used to drive the movements of the laser head. Despite this complexity, very clean and precise engravings can be achieved at a high rate. The technique doesn’t involve tool bits which contact the engraving surface and wear out. This is an advantage over alternative engraving technologies where bit heads have to be replaced regularly.

How were the laser engraved gifts received?

When it comes to gift giving, it really is the thought that counts. So not only were the gifts themselves very nice, but my father’s employees especially appreciated the time and effort he took into planning the gifts and writing each message. All and all, employee appreciated day was a success!

Perfect for corporate gifts, or any gift-giving occasion, engraved gifts will be treasured and remembered for years to come.
